Services Provided
The District provides assistance to local, state, and federal agencies, and other groups. The district’s task is to solve soil, water and related resource conservation problems. The district is governed by five non-paid supervisors, who are elected in a general election to serve a four-year term.
The District is assisted by the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), formerly Soil Conservation Service, in its efforts to implement conservation pro grams. Services are many and varied, they include:
Conservation Planning (Agriculture Land Use)
Inventory and Evaluations of soil for individuals as well as local, state and federal agencies.
Technical Assistance for the implementation of conservation practices including erosion control, beach dune restoration, pond design, wildlife management, tree planting, pasture planting, and various conservation practices.
Sponsor Activities: Earth Day, Speaking Contest, Farm Tour, Information Education Programs, Soil Stewardship Week
